A Peek Into: “Once Upon A Time”.

If you are as fond of fairy tales and magical worlds as I am – You will LOVE this show. When I saw the trailer to the show and saw that the people behind “Lost” was behind it I knew I had to give it a shot. When it finally came and I had watched the pilot I was hooked! Some of my favorite things about this show is that they portray all our well known fairy tale characters in a different way. Well of course some of them are very similar but a different tale has been spun as well. One thing that bothers me on the other hand is the special effects. I’m guessing ABC didn’t have the best budget for this {which I find a bit strange} since some of the special effects looks horrid. That aside It’s a wonderful and magical TV-show!

What is Once Upon A Time About?
The story begins in their land with the well-known happy ending of Prince Charming and Snow-white. However, the Evil Queen is furious and will not accept defeat. She interrupts the wedding and casts a curse on the land and warns them that in the new world there are no happily ever afters. Many years go by and we end up in Storybrook, a town where time has stood still for many years. The curse the people suffered from left them with no recollection of the past and where they come from. However, Emma Swan, a bail bonds-woman appears in Storybrook and time finally stops standing still. { watch the trailer here }

I love the cast of the show it is a big part of what makes it great. I have such a girl crush on Ginnifer Goodwin who you may remember from the movie “He’s just not that into you” or the show “Big Love”. She plays Snow-white and I couldn’t have picked a better person to play her! If you ever watched “House MD” you’ll recognize another person as well because Jennifer Morrison is playing Emma Swan. Jared Gilmore, who plays Henry who is the child of Emma Swan, does a good job compared to his age. He is so quirky and I love how he keeps pushing Emma to believe in fairy tales, he is a very persistent little boy.

I suppose I may be a huge sucker for anything fairy tale related. This show portrays “true love” in such a beautiful and pure way. It sort of gives some kind of hope. I’ve sobbed to a few scenes with Snow-white and I’ve yelled out in anger in others, just as I have laughed and gasped. We haven’t even remotely been around all the characters we meet in Season One this was merely a handful. In Season two they took me by surprise by bringing other characters in who i didn’t expect at all to see. One being from my favorite Disney movie of all time. All there is left to say is; Watch it! It is absolutely magical.
